DATALINK WAVEFORM GENERATION SYSTEM

The Waveform Generation Unit (WGU) is located 250 feet down range of the artillery piece and provides the Battery Initiation, Firing Mode/Time of Flight (TOF) data, and Primer Ignition signal to the projectile. The WGU is two man carryable and includes an environmentally sealed heater and air conditioner for year round operation in desert environments. All signals are isolated from the gun line until enabled by the Firing Box. A safety shorting plug is provided for additional protection. 

A User Interface Unit allows for specification of TOF command words as well as data recording, storage and hardcopy of generated waveforms. The system permits enlarging sections of the waveform for further analysis. Considerable amounts of data can be stored on the Interface Unit.
