LASER EYE PROTECTION
The proliferation of laser devices, such as rangefinders and target designators, has lead to an increased danger of eye damage, particularly for personnel using optical sights and other light magnifying devices. Department of defense policy provides for eye protection from laser sources.
As part of the U.S. Army's Soldier Enhancement Program, Decilog has produced 3,000 M144 Spotter Telescopes with attachable laser eye protection filter and 3,000 filters for the M24 Sniper Rifle Sight.
In addition, since 1987, Decilog has produced nearly 10,000 Eye Safe Laser Filter Assemblies (ESLFA) as part of the Nd-Yag laser rangefinder used on M1A1/M1A2 Main Battle Tanks. The ESLFA is used as a tank crew training device.
